Migration from WebWiz Forum to PhPBB

This forum was created on WebWiz Forums platform and was migrated to PhPBB in November 2022,having 500.000+ posts,6.000+ topics and 20.000+ users.Since the original platform is now being updated and is now obsolete,feel free to contact us by PM for more information on migrating your forum.

PREREQUISITES

1.You need to recreate the Forum structure on PHPBB, with the exact same names as in the WebWizForum
2.You should recreate the names of the User Groups with the exact same names as in the WebWizForum
3.All users need to have the correct email address on their profile,in order to be able to login to PHPBB (see limitations)


CONSIDERATORS

1.You should not have the same name for multiple Topics on different Forums.A list of duplicates will be sent to you and you will need to rename them in order to keep a unique name for every topic.
2.Users should not share the same username.A list of duplicates will be sent to you and you will need to rename them in order to keep a unique username across users.
3. WebWizForums is very forgiving when users copy / paste content from Word or other websites,storing hidden code in the database.PHPBB has 0 tolerance for this and will break the entire forum page when a post with hidden code is found.For this reason,complicated code removal and other formatting replacements are taking place for each post transferred
4.Special permissions and groups will need to be added manually


LIMITATIONS

1.Private messages are not transferred
2.User passwords are encrypted in the WebWizForums database and cannot be transferred.All users will need to use the 'Forgot password' functionality on the new PHPBB forum in order to login.For this reason,they need to have a valid email address on their profile


FEATURES

1.Topics transferred with date,first and last post
2.Users transferred including selected Avatar,Location, Website,Occupation,Signature,Registration date,Last visit date,Group
3.Posts transferred including date,images,videos,links,quotes,formatting,Edited by / on information as well as detecting and replacing links to other topics,forums,posts and users inside the forum (ie if there is a link that points to another post,topic or user,the link is modified so that it is not broken in the new forum)
